Overview
We are currently recruiting a Technical Lead for a fresh food manufacturer in Cambridgeshire. You can expect to achieve a salary of up to £50,000.
The Role
Duties will include:
- To audit and control as part of the daily management of the Quality System, the process and relevant controlling documents being completed during the manufacture of any product to maintain food safety & quality of supply against current internal specifications & HACCP controls as part of the internal auditing team within the technical department.
- To assess the relevant risks of against relevant customer microbiological & product specifications and to liaise in the first instance with the technical management, and purchasing/production department to co-ordinate any remedial action.
- To play a key role in entering and maintaining the product & microbiological control of release of raw materials and finished products and audit of product safety standards.
- To control the issue and update all relevant microbiological (traditional swabs & ATP) department controlled documents & quality & process control standards.
- To monitor quality performance of microbiological & product conformance to specification, of the environmental, product, raw material and total testing by conducting and championing weekly KPI reporting
The Person
- Computer literate in terms of Excel and Word. The degree of competence reflects the ability to work spreadsheets, manipulate figures and present graphical representation. Full understanding of QA & HACCP systems and specifications & standards required.
- Accuracy of data recovery & information.
- Qualified/competent technical person with a practical approach in application of methodology and investigation to manufacturing
- Strong communication skills
- Man-management of team/budget delivery/project management/technical systems improvements/complaints & quality focused management/factory standards & compliance control
- Ability to recognise potential problems, through audits carried out or information given and to react with the level of scrutiny necessary to bring to a contained and controlled conclusion working on ones own initiative. This may be expected with little guidance.
- A "Can Do" culture approach to work to close down problems and corrective actions quickly.
- Experience enough to present findings of microbiological or product investigations in conjunction with site technical management to customers and local authorities where necessary.
